TESL INTERVIEW 2016

Hey guys,
I'm Belle and today i'm gonna share my experience on Tesl interview (which it happened differently from what I expected) but I'm going to help to those candidates who needs help on your upcoming interview.

1) BE PREPARED
You have to be prepared before you come to the interview to give a great first impression. Make sure you guys know the current issue in Malaysia (health issue, sports issue, education issue) All of kinds of issues but if you're lucky the interviewer will be asking you in general.

2) BE FRIENDLY
The first step you took inside the door for the interview, be friendly. Not too friendly but just fine friendly. Say Hi or Good morning or  if you're a muslim, greet them Assalamualaikum. Tesl is a course to educate, no matter what profession  you want to be later in future regardless a teacher or a journalist, you have to know how to communicate because if you don't, you're not in the right place.

3) BE CONFIDENT
I know some of you will be insecure on your broken English or your slang or accents. It doesn't matter. The interviewer want to see if you are able to speak and give opinions and thoughts. If you, yourself are not confident, how can you convince other to be confident on you?

That's it? Yeah, that's it. But I will share my experience that day on interview. You may read or leave.

OKAY.

My interview is a bit different because it was too late, and I'm the last candidate in my panel, which is 9. They want to wrap it up real quick so I was brought to Panel 8 to fasten it. What worse is, I had to do the interview with another person. So, whoever stands out win. It is something like MUET. The interviewer will ask a question, and, A and B has to answer by turn.

(I'll write the questions they asked me below.)

Interviewer: Why do you choose this course?
Interviewer: Do you have any experience teaching?
Interviewer: When did you realised that you are into teaching?
Interviewer: What is your second choice in the UPU?
Interviewer::If you are not selected to this program, what other course will you choose?
Interviewer: Do you have any question?

THAT IS IT.
It were simple questions. They didn't even ask me to tell about me or even the current issues. So, it actually depends on your interviewer. That day, I saw a few people who cried after the interview but my interview was fun. The interviewer was so nice to me ( and that other candidate) It feels like we were just chatting. Very ease and calm. She even gave us some life advice.

BUT..
You have to prepare for the consequences. You have to know the current issues I wrote above, You have to HAVE general knowledge and you just need to be yourself. Don't push yourself too hard to impress people but be confident and you'll make it!

AND..
One more thing, if you ever get selected, your place is Pusat Asasi Dengkil. You can't complain or change the place because there is no other foundation but in Dengkil. It is something like PASUM (Pusat Asasi UM)
and etc. All the foundations student will be gathered there at Dengkil. Pusat Asasi UiTM Dengkil is new so everything is perfect! Nice college, cool classrooms, a huge place. Everything is perfect. and GOOD LUCK!
